Spell & Define

Say a word, see it spelled. A dictionary for the Mac.

Not sure how to spell a word? Hold the button, say it, and Spell & Define shows you how it's spelled and what it means. It can also read the word back to you, or spell it out letter by letter.

Everything happens on your Mac. Speech recognition runs offline, and nothing you say is recorded or sent anywhere.

The microphone doesn't work. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and make sure Spell & Define is switched on.

A word was misheard. Try saying it again a little more slowly, pick one of the "Did you mean" suggestions, or type the word instead.
